Bal Krishna Sama was burn on Magh  24, 1959  B.S. (February  08, 1909) in Gyaneshwor, Kathmandu. His real name is Bal Krishna Shamser Janga Bahadur Rana. His father’s name is Samar Shamser Janga Bahadur Rana and mother’s name is Kriti Rajya Lakshmi  Rana.

He studied in Durbar High School, Rani Pokhari and I. Sc. from Tri-Chandra College, Ganntaghar. He is known as one of Nepal’s greatest poet. He wrote many stories, poems, essays, compositions and biographies. His well known literary works were;  Mutuko Byatha, Mukunda Indira, Pralhad, Andhabeg, Bhakta Bhanubhakta, Prempinda, Amar Singh, Swasni Manchhe, etc.  He died on Saun 06, 2038 B.S. (June 20, 1981).
